Aloo Matar Pulao

PULAO WITH GREEN PEAS AND POTATOES

Preparation

Step 1

Peel and cube the potatoes.
Carefully wash the rice in a pot until the water comes clear. Drain it and keep aside.

Step 2

Heat the ghee in a pot. Add the whole spices and fry for a few seconds.


Step 3

Add the onion and fry until transparent.

Step 4

Add the ginger and garlic. Fry for one minute.
Add the potatoes and peas. Fry for 5 minutes.
Add the rice, reduce the heat and fry 5 minutes longer.
Mix gently without breaking the grains.

Step 5

Add the ground spices . Fry for one minute.
Now add the boiling water and salt to taste. The water should be slightly salty.
Let it cook until rice is ready. The rice should be firm.

Step 6

Garnish with the chopped coriander.
Serve hot.

tips

If you are using frozen peas, add them in step 5 after frying the spices.
