Preparation

step 1

With a knife remove all the black spots from the lotus seeds.

step 2

In a pan heat the ghee and fry the lotus seeds until crispy. (about 5 minutes.)

step 3

Grind them into crumbs. (It will make about one cup.) 

step 4

In a pot boil the milk, add the lotus seed crumbs, saffron and sugar to taste.  

Let it cook until it thickens.

step 5

Finally add the cardamom powder and chopped nuts.
